Explore the jungle of Puerto Maldonado and get to know its endless fauna and flora, either through its trails or navigating the Madre de Dios River. Discover the great biodiversity of the Tambopata National Reserve and observe the Peruvian Amazon from the treetops thanks to an amazing network of suspension bridges.

Canopy Interpretation Center:  This center has a network of seven suspension bridges at 45 meters high.

 

Tambopata National Reserve:  With a range of 1.5 million hectares, the reserve has been the protagonist of numerous television documentaries due to its biodiversity.

 

Butterfly farm:  It is unique in Peru and in it you can see a lot of endemic butterflies.

Itinerary

DÍA 1

Day 1 | Amazon Reserve Arrival

Once installed, you can enjoy lunch and start excursions during the afternoon, which include a walk through the trail system to observe the varied vegetation, insects and birds that inhabit the lodge. In the evening, while having a welcome cocktail and dinner, the guides of the hostel will make a presentation about the nature of the area.

DÍA 2

Day 2 | Amazon Reserve

During the morning, visit Lake Sandoval in the Tambopata National Reserve, home to many endangered species. Then return to the hotel for lunch. When finished, visit the Inkaterra Canopy, a network of seven 45 meter high suspension bridges. In the evening the guides will give a presentation on different topics of the Amazon and enjoy dinner at the lodge.

DÍA 3

Day 3 | Amazon Reserve

Explore the jungle along the winding Gamitana Creek, home to piranhas, alligators, turtles and birds, to Sanipanga. After lunch, you will go to Hacienda Concepción, to see more than 200 different plant species, and learn about the current uses and benefits of the local flora. Finally, you will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner.

DÍA 4

Day 4 | Amazon Reserve Departure

Enjoy a full breakfast before leaving. A 45-minute return trip by boat through the Madre de Dios River will take you to Puerto Maldonado, where you will visit the  Mariposario , unique in Peru, which has the largest variety of butterflies in the world,  with 3,700 known species . Finally you will be transferred to the Puerto Maldonado airport.
